The presidency of the Vives Network is rotating every six months, according to the General Council of the Network. The rectors of the universities decided in January 1998, that the president of the institution would be changed in turns established and ratified by the authority mentioned in each change of presidency. The university that presides the Network becomes the reference point for key activities and the main agent of institutional representation of the association during the semester of the presidency.

The rectors of the universities are part of the General Council in its own and essential right in absolute equality. The General Council is the supreme organ of the association, the management and strategic decision-making body that sets the general program of action, and oversees the management and carrying out of the different activities. Among the key functions, point out the establishing of the schedule of rotating presidencies, revoking the position of president, approving annual budgets and admitting new members to the Network.
It is the governing and management body. This collegial Commission, consisting of one member from each university, is responsible for developing the program of activities and the budget of the institution. The Standing Committee creates working groups and commissions to develop activities, oversees the implementation of the Statutes of the association and the implementation of the resolutions adopted by the General Council, among other functions. Currently, there are 3 commissions and 19 working groups, 8 of which depend functionally on the Standing Committee.
Comissions and working groups
The commissions are working organs that have the aim to develop the annual action plan of the Network. All commissions are composed of 20 members, one for each university. The working groups are specific teams, which aim is to carry out the actions planned in a specific action field and to develop a specific project.
It is the direct management organ of the network. Its main functions are to collaborate with the president and vice presidents of the association in the organization and execution of the resolutions taken by the General Council and the Standing Committee. Likewise, the Executive Secretariat assumes the administrative, patrimonial and financial entity management. Moreover it manages the daily communication and the corporate image, gives organizational support to the various working committees, coordinates the work of these committees and developes the provision of services and activities.
